Hello, Chris Northmore here, owner and manager at Forbes Timber.

We have been in the timber business since 2006, via our associated business James Henry Ltd. Over this time we’ve built up considerable knowledge of timber and timber products, and an impressive network of manufacturers and suppliers from throughout New Zealand and around the world.

Our online shop is about bringing specialist timber products to you, conveniently, and making buying online easy.

We’ve drawn from years of seeing what builders, DIYers and specifiers want and need, from the builder who needs an unusual architrave profile, and doesn’t have time to drop off a sample for matching, to the specifier who is looking for a good quality engineered wooden floor, and is having trouble distinguishing between over-marketed and genuine good quality.

You’ll also find associated products like adhesives and finishing oils and polyurethane.

For smaller items, or deliveries to business addresses, we’ll get it right to you. For larger consignments, where a forklift is needed for unloading we’ll get it to a freight depot or another location with unloading facilities. Either way, we plan to save you time on the selection and the delivery. 

I have a personal rule, that I won’t buy an item online for more than $100, unless the company’s physical address and contact details are available – so on the Contact Us page you’ll find our contacts. Ideally you won’t need this, your items will arrive as described and on time, but if you do, you know where we are.

We’re starting off with a range of core products, and then adding more as we iron out our processes.  We’d be pleased to have your feedback.
